The National Cadet Corps- NCC is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces with its headquarters in New Delhi, India. Under NCC, school and college students volunteer as a Tri-Services Organization, and thus comprise the Army, the Navy and the Air Wing. NCC Cadets engaged in grooming the youth of the country to mold them to become disciplined and patriotic citizens.

Motto and Aim of NCC

The motto of NCC in 1978, was "Duty and Discipline" and later "Duty, Unity and Discipline"; "Duty and Unity"; "Unity and Discipline" were implemented. In the 12th CAC in 1980, the declared motto of NCC became "Unity and Discipline". NCC is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and molding them into united and disciplined citizens of the nation.

National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian military cadet corps and NCC recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and universities all over India. The cadets of NCC were given basic military training in small arms and parades.

How to join in NCC

To join NCC, the candidates must enroll. The Candidates must be a Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal to enroll in NCC. The candidate should bear a good moral character to enroll in NCC. Candidate should be enrolled in any educational institutions, and NCC candidate must meet prescribed medical standards.

The age category for joining in NCC is - NCC Junior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – 12 years to 18½ years, NCC-Senior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – Upto 26 years. The enrollment period is NCC Junior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – 2 years and NCC Senior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – 3 years
